Stop doing these 3 things in your Acting Career 1 Stop doing these 3 things in your Acting Career 1️⃣ DON’T try to make yourself like everyone else Trying to fit in, blend in or fit the mold is not how you're going to make a name for yourself. By deeply understanding who you are and what you bring to the table you’ll be able to stand out in our oversaturated industry. It’s all about marketing YOU and your POV unapologetically. 2️⃣ DON’T say yes to every job Working just to work is not the smartest to build the career you want. Does the job bring you joy? Is it in alignment with your big vision? Is it a smart financial move? If you can say yes to two of those questions, great! If not, I’d move on. 3️⃣ DON’T rely on your agent to build your career You must learn to network and get yourself into the right circles. If you’re hiding behind your computer or waiting for the phone to ring, you’re letting opportunities and relationships pass you by. It is up to you to be in growth mode, always. 💪 You need to have a strong mindset to do these things. And I promise you - you can stand out and get the career you want. 4 Tips for dealing with Doubt! ⏬️ Doubt! 😪 4 Tips for dealing with Doubt! ⏬️ Doubt! 😪 The killer of dreams. The tormentor of our minds. The lies we believe. Here’s the thing, everybody experiences doubt at one point or another. When we’re having the little pity party in our brain, doubting who we are and what we know we’re good at, we think NO ONE else feels this way. 🤔 What do you do in moments of doubt? 📌 Here’s what I know - When doubt creeps in and we feel alone, it spirals. When doubt creeps in and we feel part of something bigger and supported, it doesn’t. So let’s focus on the latter please! 💖 Here are 4 steps to take the next time you feel that doubt creeping in to stop the spiral and get back into your truth. 🔥 1. Reach out to a close friend or someone you trust and talk about it! By simply giving voice to your doubt and having awareness, it will lessen. 🔥 2. Get out of your head! Put on some music and have a solo dance party! If doubt hijacks your brain, you get to hijack your body into joy! 🔥 3. Write out every negative thought in your head. Get it out of there! Put it on paper. Then write down three pieces of evidence in your life that prove that doubt wrong. 🔥 4. Reconnect with your why. Why are you doing what you’re doing? Tapping into your passion will pull you out of the negative space. This could be a visualization, a guided meditation or journaling. Please remember that doubt will happen AND please remember it’s fleeting. You have the choice to hold onto it or let it go. He graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts from Brown University, then started his career in New York working on stage and recurring in daytime soaps. Since moving to LA, Blair’s worked primarily in television, with over 45 credits in shows like  - FOR ALL MANKIND, INSECURE, NCIS:LA, THE BIG BANG THEORY, HEROES, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, MEDIUM, GHOST WHISPERER, ALLY MCBEAL and BEVERLY HILLS, 90210. In 2004, Blair used his experience in actor marking to co-create CastingAbout the online casting and production guide. But why are these things so important? Well, you’ll… Understand what roles fuel your creative spirit and connect them to your desire to make an impact through storytelling. Define the contribution you want to make to society through acting, whether it’s raising awareness, creating empathy, or inspiring change. Ensure that your "why" is consistent with the values that guide both your career and life decisions. Find emotional connections between your personal journey and the characters or stories you wish to portray. And Align your "why" with your career objectives to ensure your daily actions are moving you closer to a fulfilling career. These 4 steps are a great rule of thumb when you f These 4 steps are a great rule of thumb when you feel off your game or life throws you curves. Excuses you make can keep you from your truth and your greatest potential. Soo….why do we fall prey to them? 1st off, your mind is a freaking liar and you believe it. The lies your mind tells you, keep you playing it safe. All of your excuses are generated from the mind and if you look closely, all are based in lack. What are your top excuses right now? Pay attention and notice what keeps coming up. Your excuses are based in your ‘deep wounds’ or limiting beliefs. These were formed when you were super young. Becoming aware of your excuses and your limiting beliefs in the moment, you can better learn how to manage them and move through them. I want to share with you my 4-step system to reframe your excuses: 1. Identify the Excuse – Only by becoming aware of your excuses and what comes up for you in the moment, can you reframe them. 2. Acknowledge they are not facts – You know your brain is a liar. When the excuse arises, you get to thank your brain for the info and acknowledge it is not a fact. It is merely an opinion formed when you were young that up until now you have been choosing to buy into. 3. Try on a different belief – This is the reframe process. You get to look at each excuse and write the opposite of what it is, from a place that feels authentic and not untruthful. If I feel I am not enough, and I just simply write, I am enough – I’m not going to believe that! It feels false. The key here is gets to feel truthful. Excuse: If I had better connections, I’d have the career I want. Reframe: I am constantly expanding my network and connecting with folks who can help me pursue my goals and who I can help in return 4. Take on a new action – Thoughts become beliefs and beliefs get solidified in our actions. Once you reframe the belief you get to put it in action. I mean right away, immediately if you can. Change your thought, change your behavior. You reframe the excuse into something that feels true and doable, then you find small actions you can take in the moment when the limiting belief arises to stop it in its tracks. #actorsofinstagram
